Designed for gynecologic surgeons and oncologists, this intensive hands-on 'how to' course demonstrates multiple techniques of total laparoscopic hysterectomy and advanced laparoscopic and oncological procedures using slides, videos, and suture challenges on pelvic trainers and in an optional cadaver lab.

ADVANCED LAPAROSCOPIC AND ONCOLOGICAL PROCEDURES
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this course, surgeons will have better understanding of the following as they apply to patient care:
- Total laparoscopic hysterectomy: four techniques
- Advanced laparoscopic procedures: enterocele repair, uterosacral ligament plication, ureterolysis and bowel resection for endometriosis, cystoscopy, appendectomy
- Laparoscopic radical hysterectomy, transperitoneal pelvic and retroperitoneal aortic node dissections, omentectomy, and staging of malignancies
- Laparoscopic surgery for the very obese, the very large mass, and the very large uterus
- Anesthetic implications of steep trendelenberg and pneumoperitoneum
- Avoidance and management of intestinal and urological injury
- Ethical issues of incorporating new skills into practice
